But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock,I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it.Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.”Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!” – 1 Samuel 17:34-37 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Samuel17:34-37&version=NKJV

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”“How can this be?” Nicodemus asked. “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. – John 3:3-19 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John3:3-19&version=NIV

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer. How long, O you sons of men, Will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love worthlessness And seek falsehood? SelahBut know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly; The Lord will hear when I call to Him.Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. SelahOffer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in the Lord. There are many who say, “Who will show us any good?” Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. – Psalm 4:1-8 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm4:1-8&version=NKJV

Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me.Many are they who say of me, “ There is no help for him in God.” SelahBut You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.I cried to the Lord with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. SelahI lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me.I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.Arise, O Lord; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah – Psalm 3:1-8 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm3:1-8&version=NKJV

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ – Isaiah 41:10 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah41:10&version=NKJV

For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’ – Isaiah 41:13 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah41:13&version=NKJV

    1. Amen Lady, I’ll pray for you. It’s hard to keep anger to only the righteous side, like how Christ modeled. We need Lots of Wisdom to find that balance & God’s grace & strength to walk in forgiveness & peace. He is sufficient & brings peace to those storms in our lives ❤

  1. Josiah thanks for sharing these encouraging words from The Word! That passage in the 3rd Psalm reminds me of a song I’ve known since childhood (I love scripture songs). & toward the end of that same passage I believe is the source for the song on the War in the Heavenlies CD where the lyric is “thou hast shattered the teeth of the wicked”!

Keep on Fighting the Good Fight! Much Love, Mom/Valerie
